THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT SHOPPING AT THE BOOK BARN 📚

WE ARE OPEN three days per week: Wed and Thurs from 10 am - 5 pm, Sat from 9 am - 1 pm. We may close for inclement weather or holidays, so if you aren’t sure, check social media updates before heading over.
WE TAKE CASH, CREDIT & APPLE PAY. We have a $10 min for credit cards & Apple Pay. Credit cards company charge a fee per charge, and we absorb that cost so you don’t have to; that’s why we ask for a $10 minimum.
OUR SHELVES ARE GROUPED BY GENRE, either alphabetical by author’s last name, or by topic (depending on section). Sections include (but are not limited to) Fiction, Memoirs, Sci-Fi/Horror, Sports, Cooking, Music, Black Studies, Gardening, Animals, Crafts, Humor, Politics, History, Religion, Relationships, Self-Help, Parenting, Women’s Studies, LGBTQIA+, Classics, Poetry, Drama, Children’s, Large Print, Banned, Vintage, Romance, Business and more.
WE TAKE DONATIONS during business hours, ending 1 hour before closing. Please bring up to three shopping bags or boxes per visit and hand them to a volunteer. Please do not leave them outside our door. We don’t immediately stock so we ask that you bring your donations in bags that we can keep. We accept up to three grocery sized bags or boxes per donation visit. We are GRATEFUL for your donations!
WE ACCEPT records, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and games in addition to books. We accept Christmas decor, too.
WE ACCEPT BOOKS IN ALL LANGUAGES, and our shoppers love them. Our resource room has lots of books in many languages. Come see!
WE DON’T HAVE AN INVENTORY SHEET BECAUSE THINGS COME & GO QUICKLY. If you are looking for something you can’t find, please ask. We will do our best to help you.
